Research

Understanding biodiversity change through ecological observations, data synthesis, and quantitative analysis.

01 / Plant community change

How do plant communities change over time?

My doctoral research examines changes in local plant communities across habitats and environmental contexts. Through literature synthesis, I study patterns in species richness and other measures of diversity, alongside the environmental drivers associated with those changes.

02 / Vegetation resurveys

What can repeated observations tell us about ecological change?

Vegetation resurveys provide a window into long-term ecological change. I contributed to ReSurveyEurope, a database of resurveyed vegetation plots across Europe. My research also considers how study design, observation timing, and uncertainty shape the conclusions drawn from resurvey data.

03 / Biological invasions

How are alien species distributions changing?

My collaborative work addresses the distributions and temporal trends of alien species, and the data needed to understand them. Contributions include global syntheses, the IPBES Invasive Alien Species Assessment, and DASCO, a workflow for refining alien species distributions using occurrence records.
